Alice in Wonderland beats Avatar opening
March 8th, 2010 by Bri
Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland in Disney Digital 3-D easily topped the box-office this weekend bringing in $116.3 million in Canada and the U.S., and $210.3 million worldwide… More than Avatar made in it’s opening weekend. Not only that, Alice has also set a new record for a 3-D debut AND it was also the highest grossing for a movie released outside of the peak movie-going months of May, July or November. Overall, it’s the sixth biggest opening in box office history. So pretty much move over Avatar, it’s all about Alice now. (And the Hurt Locker apparently… i.e. the Oscars last night.) - Bri, HOT 107 |
