Beyonce is said to be up for the female lead in this generation’s “A Star Is Born”.

The original film was made in 1937 and has been remade two times already… once in 1954 and again in 1976.  The 1976 version starred Barbara Streisand as a young female star who mentors an older alcoholic musician played by Kris Kristofferson (who?).

Many of Hollywood’s leading A-listers have been rumored to be interested in the male lead such as Robert Downey Jr. and Sean Penn, but it is Russell Crowe who is being reported as the front-runner.

Uhhh… That might have been hot if it was the Russell Crowe from 10-years-ago.
